Historically, the company has engaged in several scientific and social initiatives, with a view to fostering the health and wellbeing of the eyes as well as the development and wellbeing of the community at large. As SIFI expands internationally, its social role becomes global and goes beyond domestic boundaries. On 24th July 2006, to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the two founders, Antonino Benanti and Carmelo Chines, and the 70th anniversary of the company, we set up the "SIFI BENANTI E CHINES -  Foundation", which aims to promote a number of initiatives of a scientific, educational, cultural, ethical and social nature.
