A result of this is the strategic investment in OcuSense Inc., a San Diego (USA)-based venture with a proprietary technology capable of measuring tear osmolarity rapidly and accurately by analysing just a few nanolitres of it.

OcuSense’s TearLab instrument, the first “lab-on-a-chip” application of in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) in ophthalmology, will permit the objective diagnosis of several eye conditions, becoming a natural part of the day-today clinical routine.
